Guided cycling · Northern Tanzania

A day on the bike between the climb and the next story.

The Unknown Sailors is an existing cycling community—find us at @the_unknown_sailors—creating grounded, route-led rides for Kilimanjaro trekkers with time in Moshi, and for local and diaspora riders finding their way into adventure cycling.

A ride with The Unknown Sailors in northern Tanzania

The pace

A good day, not a race.

Already in motion

Led by a community, not a brochure.

These rides grow from a real local cycling community, regional environmental and conservation work spanning nearly a decade, and a habit of noticing what a route asks of the people and places around it. We aim to make thoughtful, low-impact choices—not to make claims we cannot prove.

Route and pace discussed before confirmation
Small groups and welcoming starts
Low-impact choices shaped by local knowledge
A cinematic record of the day, when agreed

The recap is part of the ride

The founder rides, films and edits the memory.

Each recap is personally filmed and edited in a cinematic, spoken-word Swahili-English voice. It is not a stock highlight reel; it is a record of the route, the people and the feeling of moving through a place together.

Route stories in two languages.
